If, by chance, you are running a celebrity fan account, you always have to be on your feet for whatever your idol does since many supporters waiting for an update. However, you’re just a person who must do other things apart from staying online – but sometimes, it’s during your absence that big things start to happen.
This is basically what happened to Delphine, a 16-year-old Belgian, who runs a Taylor Swift fan account. You may have heard of her name and that’s because she went viral after she missed the release of ‘Folklore,’ the singer’s eighth and warmly received studio album.
Prior to going on a two-week camping trip, Delphine asked her followers via her fan account @seeitinmymind to inform her if something big happens and also implored her supporters not to ditch her when she would become inactive.
This announcement is also a nod to what happened in the past – in 2019, Taylor decided to drop ‘The Archer,’ a promotional single from her album ‘Lover’ while the teen was camping. Delphine told Insider that she had been joking about history repeating itself weeks before going off the grid.
It was a lighthearted joke and never in her wildest dreams expected that the country singer-turned-popstar would really do something as major as releasing an album. Taylor did drop her latest creation six days after Delphine went away.
Thankfully, the superfan’s friends took it upon themselves to pre-order a CD for her, a deluxe version, and Taylor’s popular cardigan. Delphine’s parents also wrote a letter to her informing her about what happened while she was gone.
Once she got a hold of the letter, Delphine felt a hunch to open it in private and when she finally did, she felt unsurprised by the big news. It became hard for her to stay in the camp even though it was just two days until she had to go home. All that was on her mind was how her joke came true.
While she was away, many fans of Taylor made Delphine’s tweet viral. Over 10,000 liked her tweet and she earned over 25,000 new followers on the app. In fact, she was even dubbed the ‘camping girl’ and had been the subject of numerous TikTok clips.
When she came back, she listened to ‘Folklore’ and was particularly in awe of ‘This Is Me Trying,’ ‘Mirrorball,’ ‘Exile,’ ‘August,’ ‘My Tears Ricochet’ and ‘Invisible String.’ She also received a pleasant surprise from no less than her idol, Taylor, who welcomed her back with a sweet message.
The Grammy winner said that she and others are all somber woodland fairies now and asked Delphine to ‘grab a wicker basket’ and join them. The teen couldn’t believe her eyes and was in shock at what happened.
