No matter how perfect a married life looks on the surface, there’s simply no such thing. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are both comedians who are, no doubt, a match made in heaven, but even if they look and sound adorable in front of the camera, they, too, have nasty fights, just like the ordinary husband and wife.
What’s admirable about the celebrity couple is that they have been vocal not just about the good bits in their relationship but also the bad ones. They have made it clear that they want to be transparent on what really goes inside the house, and that includes talking about the imperfect aspects of their family.
The Good Place star was recently a guest in Justin Long’s podcast, Life Is Short With Justin Long, where she discussed a recent argument between her and her husband. It was kind of a big fight – you know, one that involved shouting and all that.
Kristen explained that in their household, they agreed to be vocal when they needed help with something. So one day, she left a note with the chores she needed Dax to do, like throwing a couple of towels in the dryer and then folding them.
The Frozen voice actor further said that it was one of those days when there were a lot of things on her plate and she simply had no time to dry and fold the towels. A day after Kristen went home, Dax spilled that notes like what she had left made him feel controlled.
Instead of getting mad at her better half, the 39-year-old acknowledged the Parenthood star and asked him how she could be better in the way she asks for help for tasks in the house. Even though they tried to let their minds stay on top of the situation, their emotions reigned and the big fight consisting of loud shouts and harsh words ensued.
As a result, Kristen got her stuff and went to the front room, where she wept. The disagreement was so bad that the couple didn’t talk for three days!
Of course, there were times when they had to talk because of their kids, Lincoln and Delta. Kristen took their daughters to a dog café and video-called his husband about a rescue named Frank.
Long story short, Dax gave the green light to get the pupper despite his allergy to dogs. So there was no apology, whatsoever, but Kristen saw this as that and it was better than an actual sorry.
